I am in need of a PHP shopping cart that can handle monthly subscription payments through PayPal and downloadable products. Anyone have any suggestions? Neither osCommerce nor Virtuemart allows subscriptions.
I'd think monthly subscriptions would be more dependent on your processor than shopping cart software. There's no reason you couldn't enter a 'membership' as an item like any other then have the purchase links go to your processor and have the proper recurring pricepoints setup there.
If we speak of affordable commercial solutions, I'd recommend trying X-Cart which has a special Subscriptions module. It is certified by PayPal and also supports many other payment gateways.
