Hi all,

I'm designing a subscription-based site with a user interface and was wondering whether AJAX would be a bad tool to build the site around. The way I'm setting it up now is to have all the content loaded dynamically... but I'm just looking to get opinions on whether this is a poor choice and whether I should load the content into an iframe or some other method.

Thanks for your help!

Shouldn't be an issue, just be aware that non javascript user agents will not be able to access the content, which may include some of the assistive devices.

That was part of my concern... I just wasn't sure if in my situation I should build on a platform that doesn't exclude any audiences, as remote as they might be?

I read an article disparaging AJAX for a number of other reasons, such as it taking away page views and the back/forward buttons... things I don't really worry much about in personal sites, but I was a bit more concerned about when it comes to something meant to generate money

If your audience is mostly formed of people who will be using the web browser on their computers to login , then it's not a problem. However, keep in mind that search engines do not index AJAX content, so this might pose a problem for a site intended to generate money. If correctly implemented, AJAX has a lot of benefit , e.g. gmail, the new facebook layout...
