Hi guys (and girls),

My friend is considering starting an eCommerce website. He already has a website through which he sells products, but it is almost manually maintained (static HTML) and he has a hard time catching up with all the updates, as his sales have been increasing ever since.

He is interested in investing in shopping cart software. He asked me to try googling for reviews, and here I am - I'm asking you. I ran onto several, the Ultracart, Interspire Shopping Cart and CS-Cart. So far, I find Interspire Shopping Cart most promising.

What do you think?

Thank you
Deusdies

I just launched a clients site using INterspire and that has to be the best shopping cart software i've ever used for anyone.

If it wasn't so expensive i'd think about using it myself

What other carts have you used? I'm interested to know which carts you've compared it to.

The only paid one i'm able to compare it to is xCart which was a major pain in the *** over Interspire.

I've tried all the free ones as well

hi all,

my choice is cs-cart, they are about to release a new version(beta.cs-cart.com) and it looks just superb! I'm testing it locally, interface is modern a lot of features that I could not find in interspire. also, price is matters for me, cs-cart is $265 and for interspire i have to pay smth. about one thousand. with ultracart you have no access to source code so it does not suit me as i plan to customize my store heavily.

thanks

Pinnacle-cart is really good...It's not free, but it has great features. If you're looking for a way to dropship products that's the way to go. Only one draw-back (this was years ago, so I don't know if it still applies) but I had a problem trying to install it locally after it was installed on a live server...It had some security issue that I can't remember off the top of my head that limited it to one server installation. Over-all I enjoyed making some money with it.

I would recommend Interspire. The software is not perfect but it is pretty good for $300. I have used Yahoo, OSC, Zen-Cart, Volusion and Interspire. If you have less than 100 products, I don't think you can beat using Insterspire for $300.

CS-Cart looks decent though, but I haven't used it.

Ultracart - I don't like any cart that has monthly payments.

$300 is only for up to 200 products, then there is a very sharp price increase to $1000!

Hi,

I would prefer Magento cart among all shopping cart software because If you put all selection criteria next to each other, it will turn out that Magento cart is a fully-fledged eCommerce platform.

Hello,

First of all, many thanks for pointing readers' attention to our cart, we really appreciate this.

Deusdies, to be honest, there's no precise answer for all users since shopping carts vary in their feature sets, extra services, customizability etc. The best advice we could give to you and your friend is to provide a more detailed list of features which are necessary. Once it is done, it would be much easier to give an answer and find a suitable solution for your needs.

I have been using cs-cart for about 2 years now and it works great. It pretty much does everything I wanted to do and more. I have used xcart and a couple free ones but none compared to cs-cart.

I think Pinnel-cart is nice one if you're attractive for a way to dropship articles that's the way to go. Only one draw-back, so I don't apperceive if it still applies but I had a problem aggravating to install it locally afterwards it was installed on an alive server...It had some aegis affair that I can't bethink off the top of my arch that bound it to one server installation.
