I've heard about a service PayPal offer where you can add buttons to your website wich will then link to PayPal who deal with the transaction.

Well, I've known about it for ages, but I've always thought that the buttons couldn't be created dynamically and that you had to add the code for each button separately.

Now I've heard recently that it is possible for the buttons to be generated dynamically, and that it's possible to simply pass variables over to PayPal so that it knows how much to charge etc.

I am planning on researching this further but if anyone can simply tell me that it is possible, aswell as the name of the service (as there appear to be quite a few) then it would be much appreciated!

Thanks, although I don't know ASP unfortunately! I prefer to stick to PHP since it's what I'm familiar with. I probably will learn ASP one day but for the time being I stick with PHP!

Do you know what PayPal Merchant Service I need to use? I'm sure I could Google up a PHP tutorial for it somewhere

Sure, I posted the link to thread merely to demonstrate that it can be done.

As to which system to use will depend on how you need to use it.

If you only need website transactions, then the standard version is adequate. If on the other hand you need to be able to handle phone or fax payments as well as website transactions, then you will need to set up the pro version.

I think I might have the same problem, I installed Magento the other day, all is running well but in the Paypal option it ask for three kinds of paypal accounts and the one that I have is a standard. The problem is its asking for Paypal Logo Image URL which I know how to do but the problem is on paypal it only lets you do it per product vs leting Magento handle it. Any one can help thanks.
