Dear Editor,
I have to start by saying, I am seriously wondering if Volusion is paying for this award either in money or in advertising. I will research that further soon.
Next, I am in the middle of drafting a letter to you guys. Who can I email it to?
In this letter you will find a long list of things that Network Solutions and Miva can do that Volusion can't do.
I am a web developer of over 100 websites, many of which are ecommerce. I have one major client on Volusion because of your "Awards" and I have never been more dissatisfied with any software, support or other in my life. I will also detail their price gauging tactix. Including none other than the forcing of the internet shopper to the shopping cart on every "Add to Cart" click - only to make the internet shopper go back through the menu to find their next item or to simply by another size or color of the item they previously purchased. I finally figured out why they would do this SERIOUSLY terrible design and its because with 4 or 5 more page loads it adds to the bandwidth usage of the internet shopper. This might not sound like that big of a deal until you start looking at the price of their bandwidth. It is considerably more expensive than Network Solutions. Here is a quick comparison.
Volusion
15 GB per month = $197
Network Solutions
20 GB per monnth = $99
Next look at the shopping cart features. To compare you will need to look at these two sites that I have devloped.
Volusion = MonsterFishingTackle.com
Network Solutions = BassTackleDepot.com
Now you tell me which one is easier to add an item to the cart and them move on to the next purchase? They don't even compare.
I can't find one thing I can do in Volusion that I can't do in Network Solutions. Yet I can find at minimum 25 things I can do in Network Solutions and not in Volusion. Not to mention the Miva system (Hostasaurus.com) is even better than both of these two.
So my question is WHO can I send my full comparison breakdown of the systems to so you don't screw up again in 2009 and choose Volusion. Or are you excepting payments for this or is Volusion and advertiser with you?
Thank you,
Tom Leogrande
