Hi,

I want to setup a product catalogue of about 50-100 products on my site. I am not sure if I should use Zen Cart for this purpose. I am in the process of coding my layout from psd to XHTML/CSS.

I have attached an example of the layout I wish to achieve.

The layout will have a menu on the left side and on the right side will be the content area where I want to display the products. I want visitors to be able to click on the left menu for a desired product and display them on the right hand side, also giving the visitor option to view the sub category of that product.

Now because Im coding a website in just pure XHTML/CSS, am I able to add Zen Cart to this format or do I need to change the entire page to be php driven?

Also, is Zen Cart the right option for this arrangement as there will be approx 50-100 images and they will be updated on a regular basis. I thought of coding a gallery using css/xhtml but the updating of the pics and descriptions would take longer then I assume would take using Zen Cart.

If anyone has a better way to manage this please also comment.

You can try it and also try other free shopping cart, to decide which one is better for you. whatever shopping cart you choose, before you launch your e-commerce site, make sure you will keep hardworking to offer information that will help customers with buying decisions.

thanks for your reply Kasala, regarding integrating a shopping cart such as the fastcommerce (based on oscommerce) or zen cart, is it possibly to add it into a xhtml/css based layout or does the cart have to be installed with their main template and then tweaks performed to get it to look to what you want? Have you had this type of experience in adding a cart of such into a normal xhtml layout that has already been coded?
