Hello,

I am working on a clients store who want to add his own products, as well as import products from another store.

Now i am coming into problems with category ID's. Both stores may have different categories with the same ID. So i cant really copy the categories from 1 store to the other as the ID's would conflict.

I thought to solve this by working not with IDs but with the categories name, but since the store has several identical subcategories, each time under another parent, i will come in to troubles as well.

What are your thoughts about this? How would you organise a store with both own products as well as imported products?

Do you want to mix this types of products so to make users think they both are yours? or you can divide them?

well, i would prefer to mix them, but if there are other and easier ways, why not.

i have been thinking about this. I am not sure what you mean by mix, but i can tell you that both will NOT share categories.
