My client is a school who wish to sell photographs of their pupils on-line to the relevant parents and families. Security is important for them as they only want registered users to be able to purchase images of their own children or group shots. So no random, suspect individuals can log on and randomly purchase pictures of other peoples children.

Would this be customisable in any standard ecommerce systems. I don't really want a paid solution.

Thoughts please?

It's easily possible, all you need is a shopping cart system that can handle different customer groups, then you can display items just to a specific group (after logging in).

I don't know of any free systems that do this, but Jshop will handle it easily

A featured ecommerce shopping cart system can set up what you want.

I believe almost each shopping cart system (even free one) has this functionality included. You will make specific products available for specific groups of users only.
