Hi, this is my first post

but doesn't mean that it's my first time when I "step" on this forum.

I want you guys to ask u a thing - between running a classifieds and a link (or web) directory website which is best in terms of safety and revenue?

I don't want to rely on ads - I don't want to put banners or google ads on my website - my revenue will come from fees - when a user submit sth - he must pay a fee.

I already have sth in my mind, but I want to know some more opinions b4 starting it...

I'm not sure what you mean with the safety part of your question. Safe from what?

As far as revenue I think both classified sites and directories are going to be hard to make money with. There are already so many out there that you'd have to offer something special in order to gain any attention. Directories for the most part have been a dying breed since search engines came to prominence. There are some good ones, but most don't do well.

Classified have some stiff competition in the form of Craig's List. There are also tons of them so again lot's of competition.

I'd probably choose a classifieds site over a directory, but I wouldn't really build either one as a stand alone site. I'd sooner add one or the other onto an existing site that has already built a community around it.

I would say Classified too, it always updates the information/link not just like the directory that when you post the link, it ends up there. On classified sites, they can visit the site again and again..

Go for classifieds.It is better option. Directories take time in bringing money.
