Hi,
I would like to know how can a website become a money making machine? I have researched a lot and found these factors responsible for making a site cash rich:

• A good sales pitch in content,
• Eye catchy graphics
• Site getting high ranking in search engines
• A site where pages are easy to navigate and related to the theme of the site
• Quite informative about the product

What do you think? I would like you to add your views to it.

You simply need to sell a product or products that people want to buy

Find new markets, the problem is 99.9% of the "online money makers" that don't actually make money target the same markets that are saturated to high heaven - like a bunch of sheep they all follow.

1 - New Market
2 - People Want Product
3 - Clean, Honest, No bull****, well written

I would say have a decent product helps, however im struggling and everyone who uses it or businesses ive shown, love it.

I think marketing is 70% and 20% is actually having the product and 10% is luck

niche marketing. Who are you selling your wares to? Where do they live? What do they buy? you need to find a niche and specialize in it, do it better then you're competitors, of course you won't be able to fight with wal-mart but if you have a select target audience and a product you know they're willing to buy your all set.

Well, it all depends on your niche and it depends how you define a successful website.
But generally I do agree it is hard to get a successful website. It takes a lot of effort, a lot of partners etc..

figure out your product or service.
get some nice content.
do what you like to do and you will think of a way to monetize life

Can't agree more on eye catchy graphics and interactivity..

Also it's essential to bring the sense of trust and credibility so shoppers feel comfortable buying from you. Things like contact information with address and phone, better business bureau affiliation if in the US, verisign affiliation or similar that proves that your a legitimate business.

Depends on what you are selling. If you have a product, all what you have written applies. But if you are talking about a blog, then your strategy takes a different turn.

I don't agree with these points; Eye catching themes or pictures.

It is the only matter of your content and how much that you are getting traffic everyday. A friend of mine has a very ordinary blog; even I don't like that but still he is earning a lot.

To MikeJoel, this thread was on E-business. Must bloggers don't make any like enough to live off there sites, I know I hang around at London Bloggers Meetups. E-commerce on the other hand can make good money, I know on guy making 20,000 just from trading old books on E-bay. Having a product someone want to buy makes all the difference.

Although your mention things are right but in market is too competitive and in this case you should view other blogs what they offer to people and their quality of work. This can give you an idea about people preferences. Choose the theme of your blogs according to topic like if you want to run blog on fashion and style then choose a glamorous theme for it. The quality of work and your wise decisions about graphics can increase the traffic on your site and make it cash rich site.

A good sales pitch in content - depends what you are trying to sell. If the customer is already familiar with the product this may not be necessary. Seems easier to sell a customer something they want to buy, and are familiar with, then trying to sell them something they may not want or need.

Eye catchy graphics - can be good, but a good product and carefully organized website is more important.

Site getting high ranking in search engines - this definitely helps, but everyone has to start somewhere.

A site where pages are easy to navigate and related to the theme of the site - BINGO.

Quite informative about the product - this definitely helps too.

The bottom line: Having a good product is important - but a good product at a good price is important too. There needs to be enough markup left to make a decent profit.

Sites will become a money making when you try to integrate your business with it. That means that having good conversion one's visitor visits the site. You'll need to have a visitor's friendly website in order to capture their interests.

Most of the time having graphics in your website provides a sort of interacting experience to many visitors. Once they see that picture on your site they will be tempted to stay a while having tendency to gaining their trusts.

Ofcourse it goes without saying that you have to have a really good product. Second, you need to advertise that product like your life depended on it. Hire a website designer who will make your site attractive. SEO techniques are also helpful.
