Hey guys, so I've been offered a part-time freelancing opportunity while I do my full-time job for my uni placement. I've been trying to get freelancing work for a few months now but it's very difficult to break into (been focusing more on the local market of late) and I don't really have a portfolio of note.

In short, the guy who has offered me the position has asked me what hourly rate it would be worth for me. So I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend a rough figure to go in with, obviously I'm new and looking to gain experience so don't want it too high where I scare him off but also don't want to be ripped off in the process.

So any tips would be hugely appreciated.

Sorry man, completely missed that out.

It will mainly be css/html but possibly PHP, javascript and ajax too. He's been a bit vague with what it would be but the early indications from the chat was css/html.

I generally pay $15-18/hour for people that good with html, php and javascript. My problem is usually finding someone that can get things done efficiently. I do find them, but I usually have to try out several people first.

please mentions the type of job, mostly for html , design jobs we pay $ 15 - $ 20.
It is based on your quality of work. We have got designers even for $ 8. For high quality guys you got to pay more, if not they shift jobs.

So should know whats your standard

Also, don't forget to mention what country you are from. If you in India, for example, you might be getting paid less per hour than an American freelancer, simply due to cost of living
