Hi all,

We are running a website based in Europe, we have users from all around the world.
However, we want to increase the number of transactions from Japan. I have made many researches regarding the preferred POs (wire transfer, mobile payments). Unfortunately I was not able to make contact with any of the PSP-s, Gateways yet. We already have Credit/Debit card processing, so basically we are looking rather for alternative payment methods.

Do you have any tips on the gateways, psp-s, whom I might contact?

Any payment gateway you choose should be able to accept JCB credit cards.
JCB is as popular as Visa and Mastercard in Japan.
PayPal has a Japanese version so I always use that.

As for alternative options, the other two payment methods in Japan are Bank Transfer payment and Cash On Delivery.

Personal checks are not used in Japan. Bank Transfer payments serve the same function, either via online banking (which is getting more popular) or via the ATM.

Japan is in many ways still a low tech / cash society and many customers will prefer to pay at their door when goods are delivered.

Both of these last two options may be challenging if you do not have a Japanese bank account or access to the local logistics companies.
