I currently have volusion shopping cart and it is the 1st cart I have ever worked with but I love it. The problem is that I keep going over my bandwidth and it is just too costly because I have the highest plan. I need either a free cart or an inexpensive one (under $500) that is comparable or better than volusion. I need something that will not require knowledge of coding and easy to use. My other concern is that there is no tech support with non hosted carts and if anything goes wrong I don't want to be stuck. Please help!

Zen cart is free, and fairly widely used.

I've been looking at BigCommerce for my next e-Commerce project.

What I like about it is that you get a full feature set regardless of which plan you choose. You can also make html and css edits using a GUI right there in the cart. It's pretty cool.

In case you have not moved to a new cart yet....

One important consideration while moving to a new cart would be - data migration from the old cart.

Might not be of much importance for stores with a few products, but where the store is large - this might be of significance.

Shadrach's suggestion is good. X-cart is another good option in my opinion. Its quite cheap with no monthly fees & fair support. SunShop is also a good I think, but I have not had much experience with it.

- free ones are ok, but I would be a little worried on the support side.

I will also recommend you to shift your webhosting by the help of google your local highly performed web hosting service provider which also give latest cart service as bundle. Best of Luck.

I suggest MiiDuu.com. It's comparable to Volusion, but a LOT cheaper, even for unlimited bandwidth. Tons of features and really easy to use (no coding!).

CoreCommerce might be a better way to go, I know they have a lot more options, including bandwidth, than Volusion. Finding the perfect cart can be a challenge, but you really need to look at your monthly cost and moving costs like PRA mentioned.

i use big commerce seems to be working pretty good. check out my site at www.newweddingrings.com i had to change a couple things around but it comes with a pretty good template as is. Hope this helps.

Why cant you try out with magento it is a free and highly secured and flexible in designing my last question is about your band width how does your shopping cart consumes bandwidth bandwidth increased when vistors visit and use your resource i am not clear on this part can you please tell me how this happen

with Volusion you will always exceed your bandwidth, nomatter what plan you choose. It is based on Zen Cart, which has great support forum and it's free!
Will take some time to learn customizing it, or hire some one else to do it for you, either way you will end up saving loads over Volusion.

t I like active it is that you get a plangent lineament set irrespective of which counseling you opt. You can also piss html and css edits using a GUI paw there in the cart. It's pretty chilly.
