I want to design a classified ads website. I am thinking of using joomla and one of its extensions. Can some body please advise me on a better software?Which software is used to design craiglist.com?

However, I expect you're making the right choice using Joomla.

well i think PHP is a better language to work on on which you can design your site

We are moving in wiki-style intranet work more customized CMS solution. A natural choice would be for Joomla, but we have a particular architecture. There are hundreds of people who use the system. The system should be self-explainable

Joomla is defo handy with what you want. Very easy to use and many modules available!
