Hi all I am new to this forum. I am 21 years old and I am interested in building websites for people also would like to start my own business. I don't have any school or training on this I've been teaching myself and testing out software and scripts sort of making mock sites. I won't be designing at first, I will basically be modifying templates that you can download and CMS doing all the development portion. I've built a mock shopping cart from ecart 4 with digital download attached to a payment gateway as well as making contact forums, blogs, newsletter subscriptions, other php/mysql functions. I recently built my first website (solvangtax.com). Is there any general knowledge/wisdom I should know about starting this up? Pricing? Should I market more CMS so that my client will have more access to there information or re-do templates and add forums,shopping carts, databases my self? Any website development business sites good for reference? Thank you all of your input would be much appreciated.

I was also thinking doing a website with CSCart what about a retail site with drop shipping? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hi I would like to start my own retail website with my products being drop shipped. Basically i want to create a small retail website (using cscart) and have all my products be drop shipped from a supplier directly to my customer . I have been looking into this more and looking at potential drop shipping directories (world wide brands,etc) Does anyone have any experience with or how to go about doing something like this?

Thank you chrishirst. I have read articles that you should avoid drop ship directories because they are most likely out dated and only contact the manufacturer/supplier about setting up drop shipping arrangements. But there seems to be many site promoting a site called world wide brands? Are they a legit directory?

Many of the so-called "drop ship directories" are simply out of date lists at inflated prices, but there are a few genuine places.

A better way to get started is to decide what you want to sell then look for suppliers. It is of course very tempting to aim for "big ticket items" but of course it is much harder to close those sales.

In addition to dropped shipped goods i have been looking at plr ebooks to possibly sell or help sell the products. Would this be a good idea?

I think the best the way to get begun is to conclude what you desire to deal then gaze for suppliers. It is of course very tempting to objective for "big permit items" but of course it is much harder to close those sales.

Nice IDea...Dropshipping is a nice idea but finding a reliable supplier is really hard part of this. I'm also searching for reliable Drobshipper website service.
