Customers usually buy on impulse, not logic. They base their buying decision on how they feel about your product or service. Get them excited about using your product or service and you'll increase your sales.

Revise your ads, sales letters and web pages to dramatize the emotional rewards your customer will experience when using your product or service. Use vivid word pictures to help them imagine themselves already enjoying those benefits. For example, a financial planner could describe what it feels like to enjoy an affluent lifestyle without debt.

Some good points but all pretty logical really.
I always try to take my time to make some good descriptions for each product on the website. If these descriptions are better and unique compared to competitor's websites then I believe you have the upper hand.
Also, ensure that your website looks professional and trustworthy. When I want to buy something, I look for a well built website as I just don't trust ones that look like they have been built poorly.

I believe that you must always be marketing because selling is all in the timing. Following up with a customer or prospect is a normal part of business and should not be seen as an interruption.

I think that you need to include your sites link in the signature of any emails that you send to people. Produce some business cards and get them distributed.

Generally the higher age group demographics tend to respond better to websites that are built similar to infomercials. Younger demographics tend to relate better to viral media, new online trends and interactive media.

Affiliates are always a great way to increase sales. Give as much of a profit to your affiliates or resellers as you can, and they will do the work required to get the customers looking for your product.
