Hi,

I just finished designing a site for a friend on ASP and I want to try to set up a shopping cart. The hosting Co. provides an eShop.

Questions:

1: what is the best way to set up a shopping cart through Verisign?
2. What do I need to do this?
3. Is there a site that any of you recommend as a guide to set this up?

Thank you all

Nemuel

To setup a website and use verisign you need to first make sure you have a website complete first off. Meaning a shopping cart and products added.

Then you will need a merchant account which you can get from verisign.

Once you get the merchant account (that will give you access to charge your customers' credit cards) then you may wish to get an ssl certificate(that will provide protection from hackers, ssl is not required, but reccommended.) after you have the website setup, the merchant account and the ssl certificate, you will have enough information to put it all together. It's pretty simple (however, I didn't use Verisign), but it's all the same general idea. It's just my 2 cents worth of info, but it works for me. I don't have a site off hand to give you, but it's pretty simple because verisign will give you the details by phone, or email, most likely have an ssl page on their server with all the instruction on how to implement the payment code into your pages.

Hth,
-Brian

Brian, Thank you so much for your input on this. Verisign... well, I am looking for another option instead of them. Any suggestions? Also, I am looking though for a step - by - step guide on how to setup a simple shopping site. Again Thanks brian,

Oscommerce itself pretty nice, you dont need look back, you can make changes with the basic cart as per your need. if you are somewhere in EU and looking for safe and fast internet payment solutions, contact chronopay they shall set up a webshop.
