I recently started a new business directory as a side offering to my news service -- WiredPages. I am wondering what your experience has been in this arena? For the first 2 weeks I offered a free two year listing and only had about 9 requests. I was a little surprised that I did not have more requests from small business owners. I do promote my sites quite a bit, and felt my promotion was "loud enough". The free promotion is no longer being offered, and I am concerned that it may not be a viable plan. What am I doing wrong?
BTW: I get inquiries all the time from local business owners requesting links on WiredPages and I thought this would have been a good alternative. Can this business plan work?
