Howdy everyone,

I'm in the process of opening up my first website. I will be taking payments for $1.00 only. I need a merchant account or any account that can benefit me at a small level. no bells or whistles and be able to upgrade to a better one later once my site gets larger with more visitors and transactions.

I can't think of anybody that would help you. Maybe somebody else knows of a payment proccessor. I think no matter who you go with, half of that $1 is going to be eaten up by transaction fees.

Your best bet maybe to open a paypal account and accept donations, I don't think you get charged fees for that. But then again, I don't know what your collecting a dollar for.

I dont know the difference between a merchant account and a paypal account. Can you tell me the difference?

The $1 was for customers posting products on my website. an average customer would do 2 to 3 transaction in one sitting.

Paypal also does merchant accounts, I would recommend that you use them. I've been using them for a few months now and really like it. For $20 a month, you can get a great merchant account at a fraction of the cost you will pay for one of the other merchant account providers.

Why you are looking for merchant account? I would suggest for 3PP.

The best thing to do is open a Pay-Pal Business account then you can recive online payments that go directly to your account for more info visit: www.paypal.com
