I need some help on not being liable. I run a Humor site, and yes just like alllll the other humor sites i have taken things that do not belong to me and posted them. no where on the site do it take credit for making any of them in any way. But i would still like to know if there is any way that they can cause me trouble in any way.

so i think i need a release statment or something

I'm no legal expert, but if you're posting things you didn't create without permission then you're probably violating copyright laws and the owner of that content is well withn their rights to make you remove it at the very least.

If I'm not mistaken any time any content is published it's automatically copyrighted. it doesn't matter whether it states the copyright it's still protected by copyright laws. That doesn't mean you can't use them since a lot of people freely allow you to use their content.

With the videos and animations it's possible they were created to let others use them. Same thing with the games. You can check to see if theirs some info on the site about how they can all be used.

I don't know the sites in question so I can't say specifically and it may be possible you can use any of the content you want, but just because other sites use them doesn't mean it's legal.

If you want to be sure you probably need to find the information on the site with the original content or ask the owners of those sites. If all humor site are using the same content (and I doubt it's all, maybe alot, but not all) then it's quite possibly fine with the owners of the content, but the only way to know is to ask them.

I personally wouldn't be real worried.

You see those same old funny pictures everywhere.lol

And if you want games you can find them everywhere.
