I am considering a paid placement listing in a search engine. Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.

what do you mean?? a placement in the yahoo directory, or just sponsored ads next to google search results (adwords)

advice? find the best keywords and target those, make a budget, and pray for the best.

PPC is probably the way to go, the yahoo thing costs 300$/year and not many people use directories

be very careful with your money. Target the best keywords. Adwords is a dicey game ..so all the best
