If you can find a niche in government.. than your as good as gold.
Repeat business is the best business..

And in regards to a question "Which business makes the most".. its truely hard to label that.. But I would say that tangible products would ultimately lead to more profit.. Just open up a Forbes magazine for heavens sake.. lol

Just like all of you I am attempting to build my own sight. I started small and attempting to grow. I tried the affiliate technique but have not been doing well in the comission ranking. The ads all said you will make money in 15 minutes. I followed the directions as they were given. I see alot of responses here said they were making money from this. Can you please share how to do this with me.

I also would like to know which is better-a store with alot of products or just 1? Those of you making more then $4000 what do you have (a store or individual item)?

To bigrock20 I see you have the survey site listed however my own expierence was after finishing the survey you had to purchase something to qualify for the money----my intentions of doing the survey was to get paid-not spend more money on a purchase for a subscription that cost more then they pay for the survey. If you are making money from them or if you have found sites for surveys that pay without a purchase can you send them my way?

One last question-The income everyone was listing is it before or after you pay taxes?

To create a successful website you need a bit....no I take that back, you need a lot of training with advertising. Advertising is more than creating a poster and saying, hey buy my product! Advertising is about knowing a targetted group of people. Every product has a target age range usually...some are a bit wider than others for example a certain type of makeup targets younger female adults because they are very impressionable which leads me into my main point in a second. Another thing such as an Xbox targets many areas of interest ranging from a younger child to even adults depending on the games.

Impressionism is the biggest advertising scheme EVER. Have you ever been watching T.V. and you see a commcerial for a new sandwhich or dish from a restrurant and have the urge to want that food. Their advertising worked...the image they produced and sent to you stuck in your mind because it brought that craving. With that craving comes wants/needs you might actually go out and get whatever that food item is that you saw. Even if you dont do it that day that food item sticks in your mind and one day when you are out and you are hungry you might be like ****..that thing I saw on T.V. a couple of weeks looked **** good I should go get one. Bam, their marketing strategy worked.

Also another look on advertising is things that are out of the ordinary. Take the new Sprite commecrials for example....they might nto maake you crave for a sprite right then or there....but sya you are standing in front of a vending machine trying to decide a soda and suddenly in your mind you see those wierd sprite commercials, so you decide to get a sprite. BAM their advertising worked because of impressionism.

Why am I going on about this? Well the biggest key to making money is based on a few key business models and one of those huge benefactors to a business is advertising. The second is performance/quality/customer service which all go hand in hand. They tie in with advertising a lot. Even on a website how you treat your forum members for like a membership only website can affect yoru profit flow. Word of mouth is the biggest form of advertising there is...(proven statistic!)

I garuntee you if you run a great website selling great products or running it and treating your "clients and customers" properly you will be **** sure someone on that site will be in a conversation with a friend one day and be like "Dude, you gotta check this cool website out". The guy's friend will go check the website out, whether you keep that business is up to you really but guess what...you just brought one more person to yoru website through your good service.

Sorry this doesn't answer the main topic question but it does answer a few other people's questions.
(I really should be in business management or an advertising firm instead of a soux chef for a **** restrurant running a small freelance business on the side, eh? :P )

Its not difficult to make money with your website.

You just need the right kind of promotion. Nothin will happen overnight. It takes time and patience.

Try reciprocal linking with similar sites.

Are you guys primarily making your money through sales or PPC? I can't imagine myself ever being profitable via sales, I've always used PPC. Never had any luck. Still don't.

well whatever you do first always choose the program that is there to stay. first start from little and jump to bigger deals. get expert in whatever you do.
there is no thing as get rich quick. even making 500 from internet is good.

Well, my plan is to start making money off of ads, use that money to open up other websites and services, and just keep going up one step at a time, making more money with each new website, which allows me to open up bigger sites.

$4K a month isn't that much. 100 sales at $40, 200 sales at $20.
All those who think it's too much are missing the point - working
