As i may have mentioned in my few other posts relating to Business and E-Business, i'm interested in starting my own IT business in which i will sell computer hardware, software (OS, Office, Security Solutions etc.), computing accessories, various peripherals and so on.....
I'm also thinking of offering services such as Data Backup, Windows password recovery, possibly networking - wireless, setting up peoples internet in their homes, Optical media duplication & replication etc.

I would like some opinions on this, especially from anyone that has already some experince in this business sector. Any tips are also greatly appreciated.

In a word:

"Don't."

Don't sell parts unless you can sell them in volume. There's no markup, wholesalers don't want part of you unless you can sell in volume (six digits or more per month), and you have to deal with too much crap to support it.

Don't go into people's homes. PCs (as in Personal Computers) are a nightmare to try and fix. They just aren't treated the same as business machines.

Networking: you'd better be **** good at it. You never know what someone will do to try and mess it up.

Those are my thoughts, anyway.
