I am new to all this so I am trying to understand.

Several times I have read about links to my webpage--Where do I get these links?

Do I have to find other sites that relate to mine and place them in my web page?

What are the links--I would like to build my site to make money and from what I understand I need these links to get rankings with the search engines.

Can anyone help?

yap,links are like code addresses where u can access a certain site.as for ur website u need a marketing tool to move traffic to ur site.try automatic-mailer

There is alot of ways to create traffic to your website. With hard work and patience you can rank it up to the first page of major search engine.

The key elements is to set your website correctly.
for exemple, don't leave any broken link on your website. Properly name your image with keywork will not hurt. There is alot of free online tool that will help you move up.

Create an exchange link like so : http://www.visipix.net The more link pointing to your site the more chance Google will notice you.

There is no per-say best selling product on the internet. Some poeple make money selling ringtones, some people make money selling memberships, some people make money with web directories, etc...
You just have to find a niche and work hard on it to make money.
