I am wondering if any of you have any suggestions base on an idea that I have.

I am wanting to start a website for my community to where local businesses or hobbyist can create their own store and sell items through my main site.

I am looking for a script to run this whole thing to where I can easily plug paypal into and make some money from either their sales or by memberships.

The closest thing that I can find are auction scripts, but I don't need all the extras...just store fronts. Maybe a mall type script?

Any ideas or suggestions?

I only have the same suggestion I make any time I hear anyone asking for a script:

"DIY: Do It Yourself."

99.9% of scripts are either useless and badly coded, or so popular that they are the target for hackers and people with nothing better to do. You're better off building your own scripts to your own specs. The code will be leaner and meaner (if you know what you're doing, of course), and it will be easier to work with.

Have you tried Joomla? They have ecommerce solutions, site building, payment processing, shopping carts. You might have to intergrate several to get what yo want.

CubeCart does have this configuration. If your interested I can help with the design of the store. If you are fairly good ad coding this is something you can do yourself.

Each person has rights in there own store section. Sounds like what you are looking for with your idea.

Brow, you have a really good business idea. I agree with Adam on the fact that you may not find a free script to design the site the way you want to. My suggestion is hire somebody to do it if you don't know how to do yourself.

Xcart has this option, and a heck of a lot cheaper than doing it yourself.

I think there is also one for phpnuke called php multi-cart that combines nuke and oscommerce. It may be something to look at.
