Greetings pips...

Im kinda new to the internet world. I mean, Im doing linkbuilding for a couple of months already but im still cluless on how one can earn money on the web? I mean aside from joining affiliates and advertisements.

For example how does a forum owner earn money? Is it just by advertisements or are there other means?

Forum owners mainly get their income from just adverts.

That's the only way I believe.

Generally from adverts (AdSense) but you can earn money from selling a product on the forum.

I get a nice amount of business through my forum so it is worth it really.

Advertising is one way a forum can be monetized. Other ideas might be premium memberships, having sections of the site that are selling products. I could see a forum taking a cut of any exchange of money between members in contests say.

A forum might exist less to earn money directly, but more to build authority for another site the forum owner also runs.

I think there are plenty of creative ideas you could use to monetize a forum. I'm not saying all of the above are guaranteed to be successful, but they're ideas.

If you build a strong enough community on a forum you can probably do all sorts of things to monetize it.

Advertising is the most typical way, but it's not the only way.

You have to sell something, your product or product of someone else, or advertising someone elses product. We had a software product for a years and earn nice, then we sell it all and started with other project, again we are going to sell our product and advertise others

May be the adsense and other publisher networks help in making money for forums. As its a well respected place and the content is dynamic so it may help.
