Im thinking of selling my website sometime this year and im just wondering how much I could get off of it. Iv looked aroung the website sale forum and iv seen some stuff sell for some pretty outrageous prices. Heres some stats:

-Site is http://www.helmgames.com
-Script for the main site (not the forums) is completly homemade, so this is the only site that uses it
-Forums have 4900+ posts, 200+ members
-Template for main site is also completly custom made.
-average of 3474 unique visitors a month
-Over 4000 visits a month
-20000+ pageviews a month
-Access to several official gaming press sites
-144 news articles
-196 game profiles
-31 game reviews
-172 screenshots
-53 videos
-13 arcade games
-PageRank of 2

So how much you think I could get for it max?

:O

Damnit, this is hard. I like my site, and want to keep it for a while (my goal is to reach 10k unique visits/month ) and put some ads on it to...but the possibility of 1-2000 dollars for it is incredibly tempting... Mind you, if i stayed with it and got some monthly revenue from it, along with way higher traffic, i could sel it for alot more.

Well, I doubt you'd get more than a couple hundred bucks for it, to be honest.

You really need to build up your user-base and revenue, as website sales seem to be all about that.

But, hey.. you never know, it's all in the eye of the beholder

Personally, I would keep plugging away at it.

Personally, if that was my website I'd ask for no more then $300 tops. $300 is for the userbase that you have gained, the rest really would have no worth to me.

(again thats just my personal opinion)

In your details this may be a problem.

"Script for the main site (not the forums) is completly homemade, so this is the only site that uses it"

In other words once you sell the site there will be no tech support or updates for the script you created? What if a total non coder wants to buy your site? Thats going to hurt your sale value.

Also, you have users but do you have a design that people will value? That can be a large part of the final price tag as well.

As with anything else, sell it for the value you believe it is worth.. and hopefully you can get a buyer.
