You could offer a more competitive price for your products to attract more users if advertising on similar sites
Another option could be ebay. Sell some of your products on ebay, and with your ebay listing have a link back to your site. One problem with this option is you may end up selling your products for less in auction style listings.

google brings in hits, but you have to know what keywords to use etc. be specific.
also depending on your demography, which are you are in and your target audience, see if you can go to the big shopping places and they normally have a big pin up board where you can put your classifieds. print a nice catchy flyer and post it there. in my country some stores charge as little as 3 dollars for a whole week and thousands of people see it every week.
print out business cards and hand them out to gatherings, print a sticker on the back of your card.
do a link exchange, find a podcast that is in the same stuff as your website and work out a deal with them.
There are lot more ideas by how you can market your website.
Hope this helps.
THanks

sczzy,
PPC with google, msn or yahoo - google being the daddy of search
You need to ppc for specific product adverts, from that you can work out how many visitors you need per sale.
Then you know if you have enough margin in whatever products you are selling to up the bid to get a higher number of visitors to drive higher levels of sales.
Outside of PPC you could look to feature banners on related sites that surfers may visit, forums dediated to subjects where your products could help.
You could also try an affiliate scheme ie pay % earnings to affiliates based on converted sales - a wide selection of affiliate providers available. But you need to calculate a metric for how many visitors required to sales to know whats the most viable option.
Its no good chucking large amounts at PPC if you dont know how many visitors you need to secure a sale
Good Luck

We are currently just doing google PPC because the other search engines didn't seem to drive enough traffic for what they were costing us. Is this due to the specific products we are selling or is Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines usually not worth advertising with? Perhaps there is a certain amount of time we should wait to see if there is a return?
Thank you!

Hello Sczzy, well the first step in a marketing strategy is laying a foundation of where you want to be in 3-6 months time. What sort of revenue do you want to be making by then?
After you know, then comes the good stuff, you cannot rely on PPC for long. I did it for years and spent 1000's of dollars on PPC. While I did make sales, it was not the best option. Instead SEO your website correctly, Adam, Learning Newbie, Travel Agent and a few others here have awesome info on SEO and how to get started.
Here are a couple of things you should do to your site to start.
Title tag, get it worked out, many articles on this around the net!
Content, currently your site is a little bare, I would spruce it up with some wordings.
Also, your page sub layout is currently http://www.amnicodirect.com/index.as...on=Custom&ID=5
It should be more like
products/pages/tinker-toys.html /.php
This helps the Serps know what term to assign to each page along with a title tag. Nearly every site script has mods for this now a days. Enjoy, and I hope I have been of help!

Ok Sczzy, I myself run several online business and in my first year of running them I grossed more then my father did in his first year! That to me was exciting, but not really enough considering it was only around 6K.
So I needed to figure out something to boost sales and get things going! Here is what I did, first I looked at my site(s) and said ok the site design looks decent, but the product itself may not be what people want. So in that websites field I asked on forums and such what type of products they would like to see for sale! I got a decent response and with that response I got to work on the products.
That is one way to do it
Another way, is to ensure that your website is better looking then anyone else in your industry, they will buy just because of that!
PS, I would recommend switching to the CubeCart system, its much more flexible and people do custom skins for it cheap!

Thanks.
How many sites do you have now? Do you think it is possible to make good money off of one site (with good content)?
