@yellow1912 checked out zen cart and it is like you said it is. There is a long way to go from the default.
@pickadev i checked the demo at www.sazcart.com. I think there is a lot of work from the default. And as it is not popular very difficult to find references or help. It would really be a long way till i can get the look and feel of a proffessional website like currys
@colbyt I checked cube cart and it is pretty close. I also was checking out oscommerce and found that to be already "halfway there " when it came to layout and features. I think they both stand at par. Only thing i guess oscommerce has a much better default page. At this moment i am considering OScommerce. I am very good in designing and can create a good template. So i think i can almost achieve what i can with OScommerce. But i will be waiting for more suggestions.
@blue-dreamer I am very much impressed with J-shop. But it is just too costly
I think that may be a good price in UK. I have just randomly selected curry's.co.uk because of the layout. I am not from UK. But J-shop really seems to be having all the works.
I would prefer to work on an open source solution and pay a "fee" for removing the copyright link backs. I wont mind paying for an inexpensive solutions somewhere in the range of $30-200$(or 300$ maybe)
@blue-dreamer What i am looking for a is a shopping cart that can be updated and managed by my client(owner). They want to have featured products, and the regular options with taxes and also option for accepting credit cards. I am a good designer but dont know coding(php/mysql or any other dynamic/server side languages). I can easily install a script. This is the first time I will be creating a shopping cart.
I searched and found OScommerce. I found a few paid carts which were not worth the price and you could call them "crippled" in comparison to OScommerce and Cubecart. So i was looking for something better in the opensource or paid section(within my budget).
Thank you so much for your replies.
