My friend need a nice script to build a web shop. Could anyone suggest one?
Requirements:
-php,mysql script, open source will be a big plus
-template system, smarty will be just fine
-paypal payment

maybe this is all. The main feature is that script must be easy customizable as for design and extra features.

Hi, One of the simplest scripts to use has to be CubeCart. I have just moved from Zen Cart because there are too many features that you will never use. I'm looking for a simple shop, too. rugzone, I see you've used cubecart on your site and changed it to your layout. How much freedom/how easy is it to change the design of cubecart, or use it in a template that's already been created? Thanks.

I decided to use shop-script. Main reason is that it uses Smarty template system, which is great. And I'm familiar with it.
And there are a lot of features.
Well... I guess I will give it a try - we will see how it will be working.

Pretty easy to use and especially change design! Very nice looking and clear cart.
