And if you don't want them leaving your site, PayPal just did you a favor. They require users to leave the site.
If you've got bad credit history, though, you're going to have some problems for the first year or so. What you may have to do is go with one of the high-risk merchant account providers (like one of the ones porn and gambling sites use) for 6-8 months, until you're shown to be a good boy...then you can generally go with one of the more mainstream ones. This means you might have to pay 5-10% for a short time period, but that's the way the cookie crumbles and all that.
Sorry to be a buzzkill, but that's likely the reality of your situation. There is a specialist in these types of things who might be able to help you, though. His name is Corey Bryant, and he's all about the merchant accounts and stuff. We used to be the two on WebProWorld who would explain this stuff to people, and he knows way more than I do.
