Obviously there's a catch...

Okay so I own a site and I'd like to get it known, I am will to do any web development work for links and advertising back to my site.

If you're skeptical about my skills well here's proof: http://www.fiercefeeds.com.

I am competent in: HTML/CSS/PHP/AJAX (javascript)/Graphic Design.

This site is the site I wish to market and is a proof of my abilities and experience in web development.

Throw me a good advertising offer for my site and I'll provide for you some web development work, hopefully we can work something out.

Might not be the best idea to have a site that you cannot view the code when you are trying to get web design work.

Why would I open source the code to a site I put some hard work into?

lol...dude I have the .psd file and if you want I can easily recreate much of the same elements on that page if you don't believe me. I am glad you think my work is good enough to be thought of as a template though :P.
