hi

here is where i'm at..

i have a site that is just about created, so i decided to look for a host.

I have set up an account with imhosted.com as they had a forum and live chat script that i wanted on my site plus some other features that looked attractive.

From what i read it was easy to set up and being an aboslute newb i thought that i would be able to simply upload my site via ftp then control it with cpanel.

So after 2 days of trying to sort the 2 domains that i want my site to use and then to get error messages i have come to the conclusion i have probably bitten off more than i can chew.

so i am wondering what my next step is as at the moment i am stuck..

I suppose what i am looking for is for someone to set me up, and show me the basics so i can maintain the site.

The site is not complicted just a few pages with info and images which would need the text updating each month which i can do. Theres no shopping cart or fancy stuff.

any suggestions

thanks in advance

Did you set the nameservers at the registrar to point to imhosted''s servers?

All you should really need to do is upload the files through FTP for the site to show. I'm assuming your home page is called index.html or .php or something similar and you placed it in the root directory of the account.

Pointing more than one domain to the site will probably be set up through cPanel.

That's pretty much the basics. Sometimes it takes a day or two for the DNS changes to go through.

It looks like you've got things working though since I see your site.

And don't worry, once you do the process a couple of times it becomes easier.
