I have someone who has asked me to do a web site for his landscaping company. What do I charge him?

I am very unsure of this (the charging part).

Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Depends, those companies will dish out money for a good theme, I know people under the age of 18 that have gotten $250-$500 for doing web jobs for companies.

It depends on how complex the site would be.

It really does depend on a lot of things. First, you need to know the potential customers budget. There's no need in designing a site worth $500+ when they can only afford to pay you $200. Give them a range $250-1200. I don't know what your qualifications are but a complex site with a unique design can easily go for over a grand.

How many pages?
Are they supplying the content?
Are you going to be using any Flash, Ajax..etc.
Do they have a logo or are you designing it?
How many hours are you planning on putting into it?

These a few questions that need to be answered when determining how much to charge.

Some sites to look
here for tips on pricing
here is a site, Web Design Pricing - What you need to know
here is a price guide (it's a little on the low side but will give you an idea)
here to compare with other designers

Hope this helps!
