Why?
Different datacenters return different results.
Different servers in the same datacenter can return different results.
Personalization of search results can even return different results.
What matters is the traffic you receive from search engines as a collective. If that's dropping, you're doing something wrong. If it's increasing steadily, you're doing something right.
For example, I rank on the first page for "the biggest idiot on the Internet" on at least some datacenters. I don't know if it's all datacenters, and quite frankly, I don't give a crap. You're probably thinking "this is a dumb phrase to claim that you rank for", which is exactly my point. It does generate traffic, but not much. I'm sure at least someone will miss the point here and call me an idiot, and that's fine...but I
Ranking doesn't present the full picture. Traffic does.
If it's that display cabinets site, then you've got at least two errors of significance in the structure of your site. If you want to find out what those errors (and many more are), ask for a site review.
