Freelance Web Design Jobs

Ok first off and foremost, I am looking for a freelancer. NOT! a big firm or company. The reasoning for this is I need flexibility, both on the financial end and throughout the process of these projects.

Second, If you dont have experiance or any work expamples to show me PLEASE dont bother posting. I need proffesionial quality and showmanship.
I WILL want to see examples.

Third, if your trying to get over or think that this is some quick way to get a lot of quick extra cash think again. It wont happen, im not here to pay outrageous prices, and there will be no kind of payment until I am satisfied with the start of the project or most likely the finsihed product.

First Project. (Music/Production Website)

Ok, this project needs to include the folowing.

1) Simple updates via the user (Control Panel preferably PHP)
1a) News, Store for selling cd's (Paypal is fine) Shows and other promotional event, Music uploads with the option to stream or download (Flash Preferablly)
2) Logo design for website and also will be used on other promotional items such as cd's, flyers, posters ect.
2a) also need help coming up with a catchy yet proffesional trademark
3) Login for viewers logged in viewers should get more acess and features.
4) Newsletter signup for viewers and easy send to all registered members feature.
5)Included i need a link to the production side of the company where I can upload sell beats and also offer monthly subscriptions to the members area for the production side .. examples of what i am talking about can be found here www.Rockitproductions.net and www.Wyshmaster.com NOW i dont want this to be a different website but incorporated to this website if that is possible. .....

Now I used to work with a guy that could accomplish all this using PHP Nuke, if you are going to use nuke be sure you are good at graphics and programing because i HATE the nuke layout and the overall look and setup of nuke and most other php sites simialar. But he could design the site and change some of the features around to make it look like a unique website built from scrath there was no hint it was a nuke site other than on the control panel side..

Now there are 2 projects i am needing but i will discuss the second project once i feel i have found the right canidate that can handle both projects. The other project will still need a user control panel for updates ext but wont need as many features. Design and promotion will be the focus of the second project. So let me know post some examples im looking forward to hearing from you

Just a friendly note, i think you will get far more responses if you didnt mentioned about nobody getting any form of payment until you see work/the finished product.

Unfortunately the web is a very untrustworthy place, just as you dont want to make any form of payment until work is done, the average freelancer wont want to do any kind of work until some form of payment has been made.

Its not unreasonable to both parties to agree on 50% in advance, 50% upon completion of the work with regards to payment. if your expecting somebody to do 20 hours of work on a website for you without any form of advanced payment, then im afraid you will be dissapointed.

....just a friendly comment on how the way things normally work on the internet and with freelancers. good luck

I thank you very much for the advice, but you said it best the web is a very untrustworthy place. My opinion on things, if someone designs a site on there server, so that i dont actually have acess to the site. Then say someone doesnt pay. The web designer loses his time and efforts which is not a good thing, but well say there is a 50/50 chance that the person pays. So this meaning he might or might not get paid.

Now say i pay at least 50 percent upfront, and well throw the same odds there is a 50/50 chance they make it, then there is another 50/50 chance they make it to your specifications. So all in all there is only a 25 percent chance you end up with a project you like and im not out of my time im out of my money. and that I will not take any risk what so ever on.

I worked with a webdesigner about 3 years ago on some projects and we came to pretty good terms on a way to work with my budget and also keep his intrest in mind of not losing valuable time. I havent been really focused on the net for the last year or two and can no longer get in contact with him, which brings me here .

Also note, once i have worked with you and see that you can produce a good finished product then %50 on all other projects is very reasonable, This first project is for me personally the other project is probably a much higher payout and is for a local company here in town that wouldnt be a problem paying half upfront but that is because i have now seen your work, and know that you are cabable of producing the quality of work that is needed
