how do you advertise a blog?? what are some good seo methods?

Well particularly with blogs, I say...

Provide great content that other bloggers will link to and also add some social bookmark links on you blog - e.g. "add this to technorati" or "digg this" etc.

Also use an search engine spider friendly blog template.

Overall though I reinforce that you provide great content so that people will recommend your site on their own blogs

Also provide good content in the form of comments on other peoples blogs. Link out to other blogs when you see a good article, and tell your readers why you like it, or what they should learn from it. Bloggers are a tight knit community.

As what I know when you say advertise, it means you are selling something.

What I'm doing is blog promotion through blog directories, social bookmarking and networkings, use it as my sigs.

Another thing is provide a good content and ping your blog

I would look into blog post selling on ebay for starters. I make some money from that.
