Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? The more content I've been putting on on my blog, the less visits I seem to be getting lol. Not just that, in my stats it says 63% of the people leave within 30 seconds. Horrific >.<

Can someone give me a few pointers? I'll gladly take criticism and if you say my pages/content sucks and then tell me how to improve it I will be very happy.

You need to analyse where your visitors come from and how they find your site.

If it is from a search engine, what phrase/words did they use?

do the pages they land on match what they were looking for?

This is REAL SEO not the bland watered down "get more links" rubbish espoused by many.

One problem I see immediately is the links to your video tutorials open in new windows, so adding an extra complication into the visitors navigation and there is no link back to the page where they can comment.
With this you break an important rule of usability. You are making the visitor have to think!

Your tutorials pages have NO navigation back to the site so anyone arriving there is instantly orphaned from the rest of the site.

Basically you have made it very difficult for real people to use the site, so they don't.

Thanks! That's extremely useful. In light of your feedback, I'm going to test out putting videos within the blog entry itself, to simply things.

I had a dilemma on that earlier because that means the video size would need to be under 500px in width and that might affect quality. But if the compression is done correct, I think the quality would still be very crisp

Make your blog more than 500 px wide?
