New York State is truly beautiful and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I have Niagara Falls about half an hour from me, Letchworth State Park about an hour from me ( it's called the Grand Canyon of the East....you really have to see it!!) My favorite time of year is just starting....when the leaves change color!

I truly fell in love with Geneva, when we were newly married I wanted to move there, the people were so nice and I wanted to live in the country. The town was ample enough for shopping plus for real big shopping there was Rochester. But my husband fell in love with Chicago.
Once a year we would go back to Geneva, but instead of paying all those toll road fees, we would slip into Michigan which had a beautiful freeway, crossed into Ontario which had another beautiful freeway all the way across, then drop down into New York State. A few times we took advantage of seeing Nigera Falls, the boat trip under the falls, ect. Truly remarable and very very beautiful!
What fascinated me with New York besides the rural living was the waterfalls, I am not talking about the waterfalls posted for the tourists, the ones that were in the back country unposted and not a soul around. Then there was the vineyards up against the hills, now there was another beautiful sight along with all the wildlife you have. I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to live anywhere else because New York State has it all!
Thank you so much for submitting the link, the beauty doesn't surprise me at all, I bookmarked the site so I can go back. Fortunately the east and midmest have the most spectacular autumns, there are no words that can describe the beauty. Unfortunately we don't have those kind of falls with all the beautiful colored foliage due to huge pine trees, but guess one could say we are green all year round. That is one of the things I do miss though.....
