I'm curious if there's any connection between how long someone's been using the net (which should say something about how well they understand it in general, or at least how comfortable they are with it from a end user standpoint) and how skilled they are producing for the internet.

We've all got a public posting history and we know who's who. But then OTOH, a lot of us are youngsters, and one of us had Windows 95 on his first computer. Boy does that make me feel old.

Primary school! We used the internet back then. My friend (annoyingly) still reminds me that I didn't know what email was/stood for until I was about 11 or 12!

I made my first web site on Freewebs, and didn't progress far from that for a while until a year or so ago.

I think I was about 15 when I first used the Internet. That would be about 1997. I made my first web page then. I taught myself how to make it and boy was it plain and ugly. But I was pretty proud of myself back then!

I was 14 when I started using computer. At that time I only use it for games and typing..That was 1999

DOS and Bulletin Boards using a modem where you had to pop the phone handset into rubber couplers, probably ran at 300 bps or less.

I almost had a 300 baud modem. The family held off a while, and we got a 2400 bps one instead. The salesman explained to us the difference between baud and bps.

I wish I were smarter back in the day when I first started using it. I would have purchased many good domain names. Although, I had no idea the value of domain names until 2004. It was 1997 in high school on library computer.

I heard flowers.com was bought at regular domain price and sold for, if I remember correctly 25,000.

Went online with a local server who offered 120 hours free a month in 1991, wahoo! That was a big deal because son was with AOL and only had 4 hours a month free....

bought my first PC in 1998 and jumped on to the internet... miss the sweet sounds of the modem dialing and getting a busy line

Chris these kids are making me feel old!

Compuserve at $18 bucks an hour before 6 PM; $6 an hour after 6. Pretty much all text services.

I had one of those rubber coupler models but never really used it. I pretty much started with the 300 baud internal. You could watch the text appear one letter at a time. Okay that is small exaggeration.
