hey, i been getting space errors, so i compressed the Vista Drive...
it did it showed a few files which couldnt be compressed told to to ignore and carry on like i would if it was a XP drive or whatever

and now i finally have tried to boot up, im getting something like VSTLTR or something like that is compressed press ctrl alt del to reboot... which shows message again.

i have a 98 boot disk but its weird and the drive letters weird (because i thought chkdsk/scandsk was suposed to fix such errors...

Anyway HOW DO I FIX THIS???

or at least how can i get my files off my main drive so i can format and repartition and re-install.

HEEELP and please FAST im on a laptop which has zero power and no power cable.

Thanks as much talkupation as i can give for who ever helps!

Take the drive out with a screw driver, put it in a USB enclosure, and hook that up to another machine to copy the files to. Then put the drive back in, format it, and start over.

You probably want to get the enclosure at a local store, if you can't borrow one from a friend. Tiger has always done right by me, but shipping across the pond is going to take longer than you want to wait.
