I honestly can't think of that many people who are like that! Lol. The typical sort of stereotype is of course that left wingers tend to be fairly laid back and chilled out, while right wingers tend to prefer stronger authority from the government etc. and tighter regulations.

Well its a stereo type I can live with in respects to examples such as:
Right wingers (e.g. George W. Bush) Ratifying amendments, using surveillance techniques more freely (Invading Privacy), Supporting the "Military Industrial Complex", Etc....
A politician once told me that Leading a group of people or even a Nation is easier than most presume, The trick is to launch & maintain an ongoing psychologically campaign that makes people "Think" that they make their own choices. (Utilizing Human Faults to the leaders advantage E.G.- Lust, Greed, Power, Etc..)
Do I agree with the uses of psychological Control to benefit Corporations? NO, I don't..... However I do believe that without it in our Governments we would have TOTAL Anarchy & Chaos.
Do I agree with the "Military Industrial Complex"? Absolutely Not..... I think that a nation should be able to provide new employment Opportunities through other avenues of growth rather than focusing on the Military aspects of expansionism & exploiting them.
Does what I just expressed match my Political Survey results: Left wing Communist Authoritarian? I'm truly not sure of the accuracy of this quiz. If it is right however, I'm still proud to be me (Whether others think I'm right or wrong)

Adam: The problem with the quiz that I had is that there were a number of questions I truly had no opinion on or couldn't have cared less about and was forced to pick an answer. I'm wondering how much the result would have differed had I been able to pick "no opinion" on some things.
|
Maybe if more questions like that (The above stated) where on the quiz it would be more accurate (As Adam pointed out already).

Have you not noticed that I don't exactly think like the majority by now?
Seriously, I think a lot of the reason my views lean toward the right are more economic than governmental. Regulation tends to be more of a centrist or leftist sort of thing in my view, and I'm a big believer in market forces as a general rule of thumb. This leads to some anarchy as a result.
That, and government is comprised of people, and if people screw things up, do we really need people to regulate on how to fix them?
(Now that's a deep question!)

I guess you could say Dennis Kuchinich is my right-hand man? I would say I'm left of Ralph Nader, but I think after the 2000 election he stopped being relevant. I might say me and Russ Feingold, but have you seen Kuchinich's wife?
This test actually makes me look less extreme than TV makes me feel.

Adam, I'm shocked. You always struck me as a pretty left wing kind of guy. This is big news to me.
To address regulation, I think the difference is government supposedly has the interests of its citizens at heart, while private companies have the interests of their shareholders at heart. Trusting government to make everything right doesn't seem to be such a good idea ( Katrina, anyone? FEMA?) because career beaurocrats don't need to care what anyone thinks.
But remember what happened with deregulation in California's energy market. Maybe the worst disaster the state has ever faced. But Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling made a fortune.

ADAM is someone I respect. I gave you a red rep for calling him an idiot, even though you weren't intelligent enough to spell "idiot".
Or to realize, you know, how many times have you been banned so far? Don't worry, security has already been called. Just watch out and don't drop the soap now, k?

I predict that he will not have a name for long, because this guy gets banned before the day is out.

Don't worry. I'm sure he'll break the terms and sign up again (OK so maybe the grampawebmaster thing breached them too, but that added some humour to a much needed area of the forums )

So did Peter Patera, but the world needs more Peter.
John: I guess I do conceal the right side of me somewhat well, and a lot of it is tempered by the causes I choose and fight for, but I've always been a strong believer in letting evolution and market forces solve problems. The last thing I want is a bunch of bureaucrats deciding things for me.

So what do you think of the attempted police riot in Quebec? Does your right-wingedness only extend to matters of free market and government regulation?

The problem I have with right wing politics is that it allows large corporations (Microsoft being a prime example) to take over the market. In the UK now, for every £8 ($16) we spend, £1 ($2) goes to the Tesco supermarket chain! It's unsustainable and unfair - why should people with lots of money keep all the money?

Québec needs to enforce its frontiers. Get the guards out check passportes
of everyone entering. Then it needs to tell a bunch of people to learn
the language or relocate their derrières to the canadiAN side.
Like english canada said many times to french canadiens...
" If you do not like it you can leave ! "
Then after they need to rid of the english parliment gouvernment in Québec. Create their own constitution and make their own gouvernment system.

* BUMP *
Just for the fun of it, I retook this test to see how different the results would be.
Old results:

New results:

That's a little more like it. Still not QUITE where I'd put myself, but closer.
Try taking the test again and see how you do.
