I'm looking for a device that I can hook up to my phone to record telephone conversations (those of you who know me or who have read my blog probably have a good idea of exactly what I want to record ) I'm debating on going either the modem + software approach or the digital recorder attached to the phone somehow approach. Ultimately, I want to record and share with all the rest of the class online.
The one thing that may be significant is that I'm on a VoIP line (although it connects to a regular cordless phone) with a cable Internet provider.
Any ideas on what I should get? What I should look to spend? Thanks.
do you use the voip through your computer, or just through like a normal house phone? if its through the computer, there must be software out there which will do that for you?
heh Thanks, but I'm looking for digital. I want to have some fun with spammers audio-style for the blog.
I don't know where to get one - and will give TP to anyone who can fix that - but they make adapters you can plug a cassette tape into your computer and record mp3 files. Or whichever format you prefer. I have a friend who has a mountain of old tapes for obscure groups that never made it to DVD, and want to get him one of these things for a birthday present.
You could just plug the output into your line in port, too ... I'm not sure how well that will work, but for spammers, it's maybe too good?
I know he was looking for something like what you looked for. He has a Mac with a pretty basic sound card, so I'm guessing that's why he wants dedicated hardware. Thanks!

A Mac!? ADAM, I never would have thought you were one of those kind of guys.
