Hello, I'm looking for a (free) content management system for a small community (<100 members). These are the requirements:

- Clean code
- Clean appearance
- Valid HTML
- "Serious" project like Drupal, Typo3, Joomla,...
- Not bloated
- Good media management (for galleries)
- an easy user-integration with phpBB or vBulletin would be great but is no "must"
- Many availible good "themes" or
- simple theme creation via css
- a calendar that can be integrated into iCal, Outlook etc.

Any ideas? I tried at:

- Drupal:
Very good first impression, but somehow a little bit messy with all those modules in different versions and translations. Not good themable, more a framework than a cms to me.

- Typo3:
Too much complexity out of the box. Too many workarounds neccessary even at the beginning.

re your comments on Drupal and Typo3 I don't think you'll find too many other free CMS scripts that don't have similar issues, they all need some additional work at some point. I'd suggest heading over the http://www.opensourcecms.com and trying a few out.

Right now I'm thinking about Joomla. But I always thought it wasn't possible to make it valid XHTML strict.

I find Joomla was pretty good when i used it, although i cannot recall whether the coding was valid XHTML, another good software to use is called handshakes, but it can become quite expensive. google it and you'll find their home page good luck
