hey all, what exactly is a rss feed? who see's it and what do you do with it?

Hi FreelancerStore. An RSS feed is a way of visitors to your site or blog to subscribe to updates or new posts added to the site/blog.

As I have said, it is usually used with blogs, for the reason that it enables visitors to subscribe to new posts and be alerted to these whenever they open their browser, so they don't have to go to your site to check. When they see there is a new post, the title and possibly a description will be displayed in their browser and they can click on this to go to the new post.

It is a great way of getting visitors to return to your site and I highly recommend it if you own a blog

You are right whym this helps the readers, and they do not have to worry about to getting news about your new post. Browser updates it itself.

better ask this in SEO TALK. What I don't like in rss it completely copy the content of your site. It can be supplemental in some ways

What?! No - if it should be moved, the blogging forum would be the best place. I doubt Google would "punish" people for having RSS feeds - thats an integral part of blogging!

RSS is useful to visitors - that should be your priority - not the whims of search engines (which as I said I doubt they'll complain about anyway)
