Their logic is as long as you pay more than $0.17 they do as well as they would have under Sony BMG. But most fans aren't as greedy as the record labels. Radiohead said something about turning their fans into partners who play an active role in their being able to make more music, instead of lawsuit victims.
Too bad I don't really like Radiohead. Gave up on rock music a long time ago. But I think this is an historic moment. The RIAA is great at collecting money and marketing, but they've never been any good at paying artists, or public relations. Hopefully they're a thing of the past.
wow...they only get 17 cents per song with Sony? Thats crazy! I don't like Radiohead (at least I don't think so), but it is a pretty cool thing that they are doing.

yeh its a great service, the problem with the internet though is that for every 1 person paying for a song, there is another 150 downloading it through pirated means such as illegal websites and file sharing applications.
