I'm trying to change my broadband from Virgin to Plusnet. But when i put my MAC code into the plusnet form it says it isnt valid. By the way it took about ten calls to Virgin to get my MAC code and I was told alot of lies on the way- maybe this is there policy. I live in Northern Ireland and i have an ntl modem but this is now a Virgin company isnt that right? Why do you think the plusnet form doesnt recognise my mac code? thanks

Try this link: how to find your mac address. If you think you've been lied to trying to find yours....

Am i missing something if anyone has the time could you have a quick look at their website and see if you can get contact details? Here is the address http://www.plus.net/ thanks

I may be missing something, but if this is residential broadband, you really shouldn't have to enter your MAC address anyway...at least you don't in North America. You just set up the modem, install PPPoE software if necessary, and the MAC address is transmitted to the ISP upon initial connect.

MAC address of the modem, yes. But not MAC address of any NICs, routers, gateways, etc.

Even so, that's still something they could fairly easily gather for themselves.
