Thanks!
You know, I've still never been to the Great Smokies. I've been wanting to make a road trip through the Appalachians, but I haven't even been near the East Coast in years. Really need to fix that. It's amazing how detrimental having to work for a living is...
Those last two are from California; the sunbeams is from Big Sur, a group of state parks along the central coast. And then the mountain lake is just outside of Yosemite, and just about spitting distance to Nevada. The Eastern Flank of the Sierra is a magical place for photographers. Again, if I didn't need a job, I might be camping off US 395 right now. It's more desert like, so less beautiful in the traditional sense, but:
The tabs are about to expire on my POS car. I took it to a mechanic with a reputation for honesty to see what it'll take to get it to pass inspection ... the guy refused to give me a quote, said he could spend a few thousand fixing everything wrong, and it'll break down a month later. Seems to be what happens when your car costs less than your camera. Once I get that solved, though, the snowline is down to about 4,000 feet, and there are mountains taller than that visible from the neighborhood.
