On my website I had to get permission from Ian Erix to add his song to my site, but is there a faster way I mean yahoo has music on their site how can I do it, who do I need to contact, and how should they be contacted.

MUSIC VIDEOS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.

Muisc is copyrighted so you would need permission from the copyright holder if you wanted to us etheir work on your site. There are no short cuts. I'd suggest contacting the record labels/distributors.

the only way you can do this legally is to contact the copywrite owner and asking for permission. the only other way is to create a screenshot of the video to put on your site, then link that to the video on youtube

How do I do this prefferably online.

If they are a member of either ASCAP or BMI (and they'll have it posted or printed somewhere if they are) you should be able to work through them. But if you go that route there will likely be a fee involved. If you're doing this for non-commercial use and you want to do it without a fee (and that's up to the owner of the video) you'll have to contact them directly, and you would do that through their label.
