I think it's kind of neat. Have to try this!
(Learning Newbie, your Pres. Bush hatred is getting really annoying to see all the time -- some of us don't feel the same, you know. Could you please consider saving it for places that WANT to hear/read/see it? There's a lot of "haters" out there that will enjoy your inane remarks. I find it disrespectful and insulting, no matter my personal feelings, this just isn't the place)

Hey fitnfree, you wouldn’t dream to go to $100.00 per plate Restaurant and to ask the janitor
to cook your meal but in the same time you and your kind had no problems to elect Gas Station attendant
to be your President and now you’re blaming Learning Newbie for reading books and speak up his mind
about your dim-witted president.
Give me a break.

There are people who still approve of Bush? Sorry, I didn't think there were any left. But you have to understand it's not about being a "hater" like when Clinton was in office and being impeached while presiding over the longest expansion of our economy in US history. It's about watching a jackal bankrupt America, financially and morally. It's about my Christian desire to live in a country that doesn't torture people. Far from unimportant personal issues and "hater"ism.
With all of the jokes that are made here, and with a 70 % disapproval rating, I frankly didn't think anyone who reads this site would mind. I'll keep it in the general forum out of respect for you, Fitnfree.

If it was up to me, we would at the least throw peaches at Bush. I'm not sure about impeaching him.
Sadly, it's not (yet) up to me !

Well we could use an oversized peach, but I was thinking about just getting a trailer full of peaches and stand Bush up against a wall and ceremonially throw peaches at him until we all get tired or we run out of peaches

I won’t get tired, EVER.
But if I get tired, I will hire Illegal Immigrant to do it for me.
Though, I hope we get led laced peaches from China.

If we have a thread for politics, I'd like to point out that the Vice President of the United States shot a man in the face because he mistook him for a bird. And then the guy apologized to Cheney for it! (John Gotti would be proud.)
We overthrew the King of England and gave birth to Democracy. In America, the law is king, at least it's supposed to be. But the rule of law is dead when the Vice President's handlers turn back the police after a shooting. Imagine if you or I had made the same accident, then a friend told the police to go away, we're resting right now. They would storm the house. Frankly the administration is as beholden to obey the law as anyone else.

Hey, not trying to be anti-American at all, but presuming you invented/"gave birth to" democracy is slightly incorrect.
Us Brits are the oldest remaining modern democracy (Ancient Greece and Rome came close) - we basically invented it. The monarchy holds very little power at all - they hold a ceremonial position. All you did was use democracy and chuck out the monarchy completely (well you didn't have one to chuck out I guess).
This isn't and shouldn't be interpreted as a "we're better than you post" (you can decide that for yourselves ), I'm just pointing out facts

He is a nice guy... but being nice guy doesn't make him a good President
Reading book to schoolchildren make him a nice guy but to continue
for 7 minutes after he was told: “America is under attack” make him
abysmal President in History not only of America but Civilization as well.

Bush is the only president, whether republican or democrat, who has gotten everything wrong and made all the wrong decisions. Unless you think every decision should be for big corporations.

There are three issues that sum up what Bush is all about, and all of them came about before he was elected president.
1) He was unemployed for 8 years.
2) He snorted cocaine.
3) He created a new driver's license for "security reasons" while he was the governor of Texas.
There is nothing that the man can say that can be trusted, now or ever. Mind you, this isn't simply a US federal problem. It's fast becoming a North American problem. We just screwed up a provincial election yesterday ourselves.

John (Learning Newbie), you know you and I agree on our dislike of Bush, albeit for different reasons, but you can't really say you stand for rule of law and then call people "haters" for impeaching Clinton. He was a crook too, just not a stupid one. People, like myself, who think we should hold our leaders to a higher standard, are pretty steadfast in our application of the "rule of law." I may be in my own little minority in that regard though.

There's some truth to what you say, SeanB. I think impeachment (and let there be no doubt Clinton was impeached - some have tried to say otherwise) for a much lesser instance of the same crime Scooter Libby was given amnesty for.
But I don't see much choice - I think I'll be voting for Ron Paul. Knowing that he voted to impeach Clinton. I think censure would have been far more appropriate, but I do respect Dr Paul's consistency.
Clinton was at the same time a pure genius and a freaking idiot. But he shifted his party to the right, and he pushed NAFTA and GATT on us. At the time all the Dems thought it was great, now a lot of them are complaining about it but have amnesia about where they came from.

I do not like US Politics.
That said, why is US Politics always promising "change" and new horizons? In the elections all it is is about change and to be honest what good did Mr Bush bring? Iraq war? Afghanistan war? War monger and piss some Muslims off and cause more 9/11 threats?
Seriously, when I see all the whining about Iran and North Korea from the US on the news it is getting rather old. They say these countries are arrogent and don't want to work things out, however I think that is hypocritical because the US is the one that doesn't seem to want to work things out by its policy of "if you don't do this then we won't have anything to do with you or solving this"
and what's with this from some people calling Iranian President Ahmadinejad a "cruel dictator"? How is he a dictator? He was elected..
